Hawaii I figured it was better than watching Jerry Springer

keeps you surfing- Jerry Springer is still on the air
Most memorable surf- a solo session in Lake Michigan.
a sun rise, glassy, chest high corduroy, and a realization
of why we really surf.
Dream surf trip, whether you've already taken it, or dream
of going- Maui (i love it ). Pakalas on Kauai, with some
of my friends
Favorite break- Malibu for the wave, Sunset for the
vibe, and Pops (Oahu) for old time's sake.
How has surfing changed you- Deeper appreciation of
my place in the world. Plus an occasional washboard ab
What do you do when there are no waves- wait for surf,
illustrate, shape longboard skateboards, work, write, then
wait for surf some more.
What
are you trying to do or learn to raise your level of surfing-
watch Bruce Brown, Walt Philips films to learn how to become
a stylist. Don't ask, but I like riding backwards (surf is
supposed to be fun isn't it?)
Favorite surfers- Rell Sunn (captured the essence of
surfing) If you don't know who she was, find out:)
Surfing pet peeve- Angry, hostile, can't speak, stink-eye,
antagonistic surfers. Did I mention angry and hostile?
Ideal surf conditions- dawn patrol with shoulder high
peelers 8 people out and 20 dolphins on the horizon
Anything to add- this website is truly a celebration
of surfing. from grom, to kook, to studs and studdettes, finally
